Prospect Heights in Brooklyn, NYC has a long and storied history of piano music. The area has been home to some of the most influential jazz pianists in history, including Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington. The area is also known for its rich tradition of ragtime music, which was popularized by the likes of Scott Joplin and Jelly Roll Morton. Throughout the 20th century, Prospect Heights has also been home to some of the most influential classical pianists, including Vladimir Horowitz and Arturo Toscanini.
